Before Putting the Driftwood Into the Water:

Adding a suitable amount of salt or baking soda to boiling hot water and simmering for about an hour can promote the rapid release of tannins.After soaking the driftwood in hot water, the water will turn yellow. If the wood is dark in color, it may require multiple changes of clean water and boiling several times.After it cools down, pour out the dirty water and replace it with clean water. Let it sit for a few days, during which the water needs to be changed frequently and the cleanliness observed to ensure that the water in the fish tank is clear after the wood is placed.

PRE-TREAT STEPS — Before using, boil the large driftwood 2-3 times for 1 hour each time, and then soak it for about 2-3 weeks, during this time will cause the wood to release tannins (which may last for several weeks or longer), darkening the water color.
